Mavinakere is a small village near Hole Narasipur taluk of Hassan district. The famous and beautiful Sri Lakshmi Venkataramana Swami temple is one of the places to visit here. It's a place which illustrates the harmony between Hari-Hara.
It is situated very near to the Hemavathi river which flows beside Hole Narasipur. Mavinakere is located about 12 miles from Hassan. As soon you enter the Sri Lakshmi Venkataramana Swami temple's gateway, you will be inside the temple enclosure at the centre of which is the main temple building, built on a highly raised deck or platform.
The front portion resembles an assembly hall. On proceeding further, Sri Lakshmi Venkataramana Swami is in a standing position, blessing everybody who come to him. The four-shouldered Sri Lakshmi Venkataramana Swami is holding Srichakra and Abhaya in his two right hands and Shankha and Mudre in the two left hands. Adjoining to this, to our right is the shrine of Sri Mahalakshmi. The kind hearted Divine Mother appears as if she too is following in His stead to fulfil the wishes of all the devotees. Sri Lakshmi is also four-shouldered, holding a Chakra and Vara Mudre in her right hands.
